Great News! A faith-based, public education project to raise awareness about the harms caused to LGBTQ people when there is not a non-discrimination law on the books has been successful! Our work has attracted the attention of Ohio lawmakers.
Now, all eyes are turning toward to the faith community to find out what we think about this legislation.
With your additional help, the Ohio state legislature will consider the Equal Housing and Employment Act, a bill which would prevent people from losing their jobs or housing because of their sexual orientation or gender identity and expression.
This is a tremendous opportunity for us to raise our voices and let Ohio legislators know that Christians support this trans-inclusive non-discrimination bill.
We need to make it understood that we support equality for the LGBTQ community—not in spite of our Christian faith, but rather, it is precisely because of our faith that we oppose discrimination of any kind.
Join the cause by adding your name to this campaign, and we will let you know how you can take action for equality in Ohio.
Our work will culminate during Faith Week: November 16 - 20, when people of faith across Ohio will gather to tell legislators that we demand protections for LGBTQ people across the state.
Thanks for joining us in this important work.
Believe Out Loud is partnering with the National LGBTQ Task Force, Equality Ohio, Integrity USA, More Light Presbyterians, ONA Coalition of the United Church of Christ, Reconciling Ministries Network, and ReconcilingWorks to end discrimination against LGBTQ people in Ohio.
