Dave Ferguson is a retired Seventh-day Adventist Pastor. He served the church for fourteen years before resigning as an initial part of his coming out process. Since that time, he has served as a financial consultant and branch manager in the financial services industry. He has served on non-profit boards, chairing several of them, and is an active member of his local congregation. He is an active member of the Board for Seventh-day Adventist Kinship International, serving in various capacities since 1999. Dave is also engaged as a vocal musician, performing with seven different choral groups in the Los Angeles area and is currently starting a youth orchestra to support youth in a low income area.

Recently, Brett Hadley, a Bible teacher, pastor and drama coach at Highland View Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist school in Maryland, was forced to resign. The reason: he participated in the wedding of his step-daughter, who entered into a same-sex marriage.

When the family planned this event as a family dinner, no one guessed it would result in this beloved teacher losing his job.
