The Reverend Shari K. Brink embodies a positive and inclusive spiritual message in her role as a religious and not-for-profit leader. As Executive Minister of historic Marble Collegiate Church, she provides strategic leadership to one of New York City's most diverse congregations. With oversight of all of Marble’s program ministries – vibrant arts and entrepreneurs initiatives and targeted programs for women and men, and infants to elders – she is known for her ability to strengthen planning, teamwork and collaboration. As the leader of GIFTS, Marble’s LGBT fellowship, she has helped them to celebrate their 20-year history and to find new vitality. As the founding co-president of Room for All, a small not-for-profit that educates and advocates for the full inclusion of LGBT people within the Church, she leverages the power of religion and faith for the full inclusion of LGBT people in society while challenging the Church to rise above issues of gender identity and sexual orientation. Throughout her career, Rev. Brink has demonstrated a commitment to creating communities of faith that bring together people from racially and socio-economically diverse backgrounds and that reach out across lines of religious difference. “Nothing brings me more joy,” she says “than a congregation in which everyone knows they belong and has an opportunity to use their gifts and skills, strengths and experiences for the greater good.” A native of Iowa, Rev. Brink is a graduate of Northwestern College and Fuller Theological Seminary.
